Lower Mississippi River Keepers, the Louisiana Environmental Action Network and the Pointe Au Chien Indian Tribe discover islands in Timbalier Bay, Louisiana covered with dead birds and a dead sea turtle. Tribal attorneys Patty Ferguson and Joel Waltzer from Waltzer & Wiygul reported the findings to Unified Incident Command. Stuart Smith of Smith & Stagg arranged for lab analysis of the samples taken on the islands. At least one of the islands is in territory managed and fished by native americans for centuries.
